Main Ave Galleria

Leslie Crann Leslie was attracted to art at an early age. One day looking around the garage she came across two tubes of paint, one blue and one white. She also found a wooden board and an eraser. She took everything and laid under a tree and began to paint with the eraser. When she was done, she showed her dad a painting of an ocean with sail boats. That was only the beginning. In school she took every art class that was offered. Her teachers encouraged her to take additional classes. She continued her education at William Paterson Collage.

Over time she has worked in different mediums such as drawing, acrylic and oil painting, stone sculpture, and pottery. By chance she found someone offering a class on glass bead making. Even though her first beads were not very good, she loved how the molten glass rods melted together into this smooth glass form. She did her research and created her own studio. She has been creating Lampwork beads for about two years. There is some thing really exciting about taking a foot long piece of glass tube and melting it at about 2000 degrees and creating a form so beautiful.

Leslie has a flower garden in 3/4th of the back yard. She adds new flowers every year. It’s always been a work in progress. Many of the floral beads are inspirited by the garden. One of the beads is named ’Leslies Garden”. Some of the line beads are inspirations of organic forms and the waive beads have an ocean feel. She also has a special passion for trees. “The richness of life comes from Trees” she would say.

Each bead pendant is a piece of art. No two are exactly the same. Some times a bead can take as little as 20 minutes to make while others can take several hours.
